Drinking songs

Ok, this is just going to cause a lot of arguments, so I'm not going to present it as a definitive list. Let's just call it a rough draft. Here are 25 of my favorite drinking songs. I'll try to organize them some, but it really depends on my mood.

As part of my hard work and dedication as Beer Editor at www.beefbeerandpoker.com, I will be enjoying some craft beers while I work on this.

1. The Drunken Scotsman by the Irish Rovers.
2. I Like Beer by Tom T. Hall.
3. Drinkin' my Baby Goodbye by Charlie Daniels
4. I Think I'll Just Stay Here and Drink by Merle Haggard
5. Why Don't We Get Drunk by Jimmy Buffet

Not bad for the first 5. This is still in fun loving Drunken Zorag's wheelhouse.

6. I Love Her, She Hates Me (and I drink) by Darryl Worley
7. Your Cheatin' Heart by Hank Williams
8. Wish You Were Here by Mark Wills
9. She's Got You by Patsy Cline
10. He Stopped Loving her Today by George Jones

Yup, that set was the bring me down set. Need to have some sad songs on the list.

11. Shout by Otis Day & The Knights
12. Mony Mony by Billy Idol
13. You Never Even Called me by my Name by David Allan Coe
14. Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks (yes, I went there)
15. Family Tradition by Hank Williams Jr.

A bit more of audience participation style in that group. Boisterous and fun.

16. Cotton Eyed Joe by the Rednex
17. Electric Slide by Marcia Griffiths
18. YMCA by the Village People
19. Boot Scootin' Boogie by Brooks and Dunn
20. Cha Cha Slide, or whatever the hell it is, or whatever the current song taking its place is.

See, you gotta play the music that causes people to make fools of themselves. Without these songs, designated drivers would have to settle for free sodas instead of blackmail.

21. Mas Tequila by Sammy Hagar
22. Drunken Lullabies by Flogging Molly
23. Good Hearted Woman by Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings
24. Five Dollar Fine for Whining by Chris LeDoux
25. Battle of New Orleans by Johnny Horton (I'd go with Sink the Bimarck, but not as many people know it).

The last five were just round offs. I left out a lot of music, and this list obviously skews towards my tastes.

Blech

I had plans for switching my blog over. I worked hard at setting up the forums, now I can't remember how I did half the stuff. I don't have time to be the web guy (nor the time to even learn how). Anyone want the position? No pay yet, but lots of free stuff (as we get it).

I'm gonna work on an article and post it here later.
